    In 1863 Anthony helped found the Women's Loyal National League, a movement that sought to abolish slavery.

    In 1866 Anthony participated in the creation of the American Equal Rights Association, a movement which combined the fight for women's right with the fight for the rights of African Americans.
  • Formation of the National Woman Suffrage Movement

    In 1869 Anthony and her colleague Elizabeth Cady Stanton formed the National Woman Suffrage Movement, an organization which fought for a constitutional amendment allowing women to vote
  • United States v. Susan B. Anthony

    In 1893 Anthony was put on trial in federal court for the crime of attempting to vote. She lost the trial, but ultimately never paid the fine which was her punishment.
