    At 1:20 am, eight cops came into the Stonewall Inn. The Inn was Filled with drag queens, street kids, gay professionals and closeted and straight mafiosi. In two hours the Village was on fire and bleeding out as hundred rioted, the gays and lesbians fought back. From that night on, gays and lesbians memorialize that a night every year with weekend rallies, parades and parties were for the spectacle for the inspiring Stonewall.

    The first Gay Pride marches took place in Los Angeles and New York, commemorating the anniversary of the riots. Similar marches were organized in other cities, and today Gay Pride events are held annually throughout the world toward the end of June.
