    Description
In The Odyssey by Homer, the suitors are a group of men vying for Penelope’s hand in marriage while Odysseus is presumed dead after years away from home. They overrun Odysseus’s palace in Ithaca, consuming his wealth and disrespecting his household. Despite Penelope’s clever attempts to delay remarriage, such as weaving and unweaving a shroud, the suitors grow increasingly arrogant and demand a decision.

Odysseus’ journey in The Odyssey is marked by both significant gains and painful losses. Over the course of his travels, he gains wisdom, humility, and a deeper understanding of leadership and patience. These lessons help him reclaim his home and restore order to Ithaca, solidifying his legacy as a hero. However, his victories come at great cost. He loses all his companions, spends 20 years away from his family, and sacrifices much of his personal happiness and innocence.
