The Manifesto
The LDS church issues the 1890 Manifesto that stated that they ceased the teaching of Plural Marriage. This also came at a time where the church and its members were on the brink of losing rights and priveleges of living in the Utah territory. -
STATEHOOD!!!!!
Finally after being in the Salt Lake Valley for nearly 50 years, Utah reached statehood and entered into the United States as a free and sovereign state. -
Elections
After creating a two party system and sucessfully petitioning the U.S. Federal Government to become a state, Utahns voted for the Democractic presidential candidate.
