This practice continued for years, from 776 (BC) to 393 (AD). These birds could be trained to go to certain locations, making them useful. Homing pigeons have been in use for over 300 years. Later on, the same pigeons were used in wars. -
Dots and Dashes on a Telegraph
Samuel Morse invented the first telegraph that worked well, though it was not the first. It worked using pulses of current to deflect and electromagnet, moving the ‘pen’ and printing things on the paper. Gugliermo Marconi was working with electromagnetic waves. A year after patenting the radio, Marconi tested it, successfully, over the Atlantic Ocean. Originally, it was a worry that the curve of the earth would hamper the signal. It traveled over 2000 miles. -

Marc Andreessen was a co-author of Mosaic. Eric Bina was the other author. He was a n inventor entrepreneur. This greatly increased the popularity of the World Wide Web.
