Mussolini, like Hitler, was a totalitarian leader and by using similar tactics as Hitler he promoted violence. This fueled the fire for fascist actions among many nations in Europe.

Was the start of the Great Depression that not only reached the U.S, but affected all countries across the globe. Put many areas into a depression of their own, resulting in the people looking towards strong, but unreliable leaders. Example would be German's looking towards Hitler, although his intentions were bad.

He is also able to build up his miliary further without any conflict from other nations.Such as building his army back up.

Churchill took over from Chamberlin who's views on the war were of nuetrality, but this was no longer an option and so Churchill took it in his hands to change the situation. His goal was to stop Hitler and change the fate of Europe as it was slowly being taken over.

The savior of the millions of Allied troops from the beaches Dunkirk was a moral booster. It gave the Allied powers hope for a change in the events of the war, although it was a strategical mishap.

The German's lost thiss battle and Churchill was able to keep the spirits high of the British people long enough to withstand the distaster that was occuring. Hitler called off the invasion and the tides were once again in the Allied powers favor.
