1 May 2004: the Council of the European Union approves the accession of Cyprus, Malta, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovenia who sign the Accession Treaty on 16 April 2003 in Athens. -
January 2007
1 January 2007 the Council of the European Union approves the accession of Romania and Bulgaria who sign the Accession Treaty on 25 April 2005 in Luxembourg. -
1 July 2013
1 July 2013: with a resolution of 1 December 2011, the European Parliament approves the accession of Croatia, which signs the accession treaty on December 9, 2011 in Brussels.
