Stephen G Wozniak was born in San Jose, California, 8/11/1950. His father had been an engineer at Lockheed Martin, spawning an early interest in electronics. ("Steve Wozniak" 2019) In 1968, His college life began at the University of Colorado. Eventually, due to a lack of funds, he moved back to California and started going to school at UC Berkeley. At the start of the 1970s during his studies at UC Berkley, Wozniak met Steve Jobs, who was then still a high school student. Leaving Apple
In 1985, Wozniak chose to leave Apple. He felt as if Apple was going in the wrong direction for the past five years, and as if it was hindering his personal growth. Teaching Life
After ending his business with Apple, for a time Wozniak had taught computing to school children from grades 5-9. His second life-long goal was always to teach children. This is in stark contrast to the businessman we know him as (Glance & UWA Centre for Software Practice 2019). -
New Ventures and CL 9
After leaving Apple, Wozniak went on to start new companies and ventures. One of the most prominent would be CL 9 ("Steve Wozniak" 2019). This company had been responsible for launching the first programmable universal remote, called CORE (Wozniak & Van Dusen 1990). -
Electronic Frontier Foundation
In 1990, Wozniak, with Mitchell Kapor, had launched the Electronic Frontier Foundation. the foundation's goal was to help protect and provide legal aid for computer hackers facing criminal prosecution. Being a hacker himself, it only seemed right that he assisted fellow hackers ("About EFF" 2019) -
WoZ (Wheels of Zeus)
In 2002, Wozniak launched WoZ. The company's main motive was the development of wireless GPS technology. One of the few products the company made had been the smart tag, a device you could attach to an item to keep track of its location. ("Wozniak: Inventors and Inventions" 2002) -
The Fall of WoZ

Ongoing Ventures
After ending WoZ, Wozniak went on to found Acquicor Technology, a holding company that acquires smaller companies to renovate them. Along with this from 2009-2014 he had been chief scientist as Fusion-io, and became chief scientist at Primary Data (Vance 2009).
