Stephen Wozniak was born on August 11, 1950, in San Jose, California. From a very young age, Wozniak was fascinated in technology and electronics due to his father being an engineer at Lockheed Martin.
-
Stephen Wozniak attended the University of California, Berkeley, for his freshman year and then decided to drop out, due to his hatred for school and passion for electronics.
-
Around the time Wozniak dropped out of UC Berkeley, he was offered a job by Hewlett-Packard (HP), which was an extremely high-tech enterprise, and was devoted to high performance computers. This was a big accomplishment for him, and at this company, was where he and Steve Jobs began working together and developed a great friendship.
-
Wozniak attended the first Homebrew meeting in 1975, which he felt right at home, amongst many other intelligent minds fixated on creating computers.
-
Wozniak developed the Integer BASIC. This board was his "first" computer, which when attached to a power supply, keyboard, video monitor and cassette tape player, had a video display, mass storage, and input/output.
-
Steve Jobs had shown interest in Wozniak's Integer BASIC, which then lead to Woz working on the expansion of the board, this lead to the development of Apple I, in which he and jobs attempted to sell. The two were successful with Apple I, but it needed some work,
-
Wozniak and Alice Robertson tied the knot in 1976, yet, it didn't work out between the two and in 1980, they divorced.
-
While developing this, Wozniak was the brains behind configuring the computer, and Jobs had taken on the role of being the marketer. The Apple II computer could display colorful computer graphics, and had a BASIC-programming language. The Apple II became a huge success. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lEmzAY5xIo

-
In 1981, Wozniak went back to the University of California, Berkeley, and finished his degree in electrical engineering/computer science.
-
-
Wozniak was awarded the National Medal of Technology, which is the highest honor to receive for America's leading innovators, he was awarded this by the President of the United States
