    In 1894 he moved back to the University of Chicago and was named the head of a newly developed department of philosophy, psychology and pedagogy. (theoretical concept) This is where Dewey became more interested in education and during his time here. He opened a primary school to test his theories of education along with his wife Harriet. His goal was to reform the education system and the society into a democratic community. There were a few problems & he resigned around 1919.
  • Experimentalism

    One of John Dewey's many theories is one called "experimentalism" which believed that man "behaved out of habit and change." When they didn't understand that change, they had to think "creatively" to help bring back control of their current situation. Source:

He is considered one of the leaders of progressive educational reform, a professor who taught at many prominent universities, philosopher, and psychologist are just a few of his titles. He is one of the many great leaders who changed the field of science to what it is today.
