Stages Of My Life Timeline Project By: Jameisha Cox

  • Birth

I was born March 5th, 1996 My mom said that when I came out, instead of sucking my thumb I was sucking my wrists which caused me to have blisters on them she also said I was the easiest birth of all 6 of my siblings. (just a fun fact)
  • My first 2 years: Cognitive Event

I said my first word when I was a one year old, which was "no" my mom says that I said no to almost everything.
  • My first 2 years: Biosocial Event

After graduating from a bottle to a sippy cup, I was excited that I had learned how to hold my cup on my own.
  • My first 2 years: Psychosocial Event

My mom said during the first couple of years of my life I was very shy and afraid around strangers, I would bury my face into her chest in an attempt to hide from people that were not familiar to me.
  • My play years: Biosocial Events

When I was just 3 years old I would sneak into the kitchen while my mom was sleeping and climb on to the counter tops into the cabinets and pour cereal for myself. I also got up every morning before my mom and attempted to dress myself.
  • My play years: Cognitive Event

I started preschool and there, I learned how to sing my ABC's, count and I started learning about clocks and time as well.
  • My play years: Psychosocial Event

I was always running around with my big brothers and neighborhood kids playing hide and seek that was my favorite game, I mostly played with boys, probably because I was the only girl in my (immediate) family at the time.
  • My school years: Cognitive Developement

After starting kindergarten, I learned how to read entire books, which I became very good at, I was reading at a 2nd grade level in kindergarten. The Junie B. Jones series was my favorite.
  • My school years: Psychosocial Events

In second grade I had so many friends at school and my teacher always gave me compliments about how smart I was, I was very proud and confident in myself after being so worried and anxious on my first day.
  • My school years: Biosocial Event

I learned how to paint my nails and do my own hair without my moms help. That year I also learned how to play basketball after practicing with my dad relentlessly.
  • Adolescence: Biosocial Event

    Adolescence: Psychosocial Event
Me and my bestfriend during the summer of 2010.
At that time I was starting to argue with my older siblings and my parents more often mostly about my opinion that I was "old enough to make my own choices" I felt like I shouldn't get treated any differently from my other siblings because I was a girl. I wanted to be around friends more than family and I also was more interested in boys.
  • Adolescense: Cognitive Event

I was an honor roll student in high school. English and Social Studies were my favorite subjects. I also remember my imagination being very vivid around this time I imagined doing things like driving, moving into my own house, getting married, etc.

Here's a picture of me and one of my many friends after going to the amusement park at the mall of america. My group of friends were much more diverse than the friends I had growing up, new things were very constant, I was going out with large groups of people a lot we went to clubs, museums, different states, etc. I met most of my friends at work.
I also became involved in my first serious love relationship.

    Emerging Adulthood: Biosocial Event
Here's a picture of me on my 22nd birthday. I have gained a little weight this year (something I always wanted as a teenager) I also notice subtle differences in my body overall. Thus, I am much more concerned about practicing healthier habits like, eating healthy, sleeping well, exercising often and drinking water as much as possible.
