St Thomas was born in Milk Street, London, England on the 7th of February 1947. Born to Sir John More a successful Lawyer and his wife Agnes Graunger. Thomas More attended St Anthony’s school in Threadneedle street in London (considered to be one of the finest schools at the time in London). Born in a Roman Catholic family. -

Between the year 1512-1519 , Thomas More worked on a History book on ‘Richard III’, which was never finished. The Coronation of the Queen
In 1533, More refused to attend the coronation of Anne Boleyn as the Queen of England. Truthfully, this was not an act of treason, as More had written to Henry acknowledging Anne's queenship and expressing his desire for the King's happiness and the new Queen's health. Despite this, his refusal to attend was widely interpreted as a snub against Anne, and Henry took action against him. -

Accused of Conspiracy
In early 1534, More was accused of conspiring with the "Holy Maid of Kent," Elizabeth Barton, a nun who had prophesied against the king's annulment, but More was able to produce a letter in which he had instructed Barton not to interfere with state matters. -

Consipiracy
More was asked to appear before a commission and swear his allegiance to the parliamentary Act of Succession. More accepted Parliament's right to declare Anne Boleyn the legitimate Queen of England, but he steadfastly refused to take the oath of supremacy of the Crown in the relationship between the kingdom and the church in England.More refused to take the oath and furthermore publicly refused to uphold Henry's annulment. Alongside John Fisher. -

Mores Trial
More was tried before a panel of judges that included the new Lord Chancellor, Sir Thomas Audley, as well as Anne Boleyn's father, brother, and uncle. He was charged with high treason for denying the validity of the Act of Succession. Jury Only took 15 minutes to find that he is guilty. -

St Thomas More convicted of Treason
After spending fifteen in the tower of London, St Thomas More was beheaded 9 days after ST John Fisher.
St Thomas More was convicted of treason. He told the court he couldn’t go against his conscience and whished his judges that: ‘We may yet hereafter in heaven merrily all meet together to everlasting salvation’. He then said to the crowd on the scaffold ‘The Kings good servant BUT GOD’S FIRST) -
The Beatification of Bl. Thomas
Bl. Thomas More was Beatified by Pope Leo XIII in 1886. -
Canonisation
St Thomas , along with his companion St John Fisher were canonized on the 19th of May 1935 by Pope Pius XI -
More on the English calender of saint & heroes
More was added to the church of England’s Calender of Saints and Heroes of the Christian church, jointly with St John Fisher. -
Pope John Paul II
Pope John Paul II declared More the ‘Heavenly patron of statesmen and politicians’ -
