Founding
On January 27th 1886 Bishop Gilmour requested to start a high school on Clevelands West side. -
Opening
St. Ignatius HIgh School opened, and it was the twentieth secondary school sponsered by the Jesuits. -
Main Building
The main building is built -
Separation
High school and college courses are set apart, and the College changed its name to John Carroll University -
Becoming Just a High School
John Carroll becomes an independent school but stayed in close relation with Saint Ignatius -
Alma Mater
The Alma Mater was created by band director Jack Hearns -
Stealing of the Alma Mater
Saint Xavier makes there Alma Mater the same as ours. -

Saint Igantius captures their first State football title -

In 1990 Saint Ignatius added a fine arts department to its curriculum
