13th Amendment
The 13th Amendment was created to abolish slavery. At the end of 1865, all southern states execpt Texas had been ready to rejoin the union and had grew new governments. -
Freedmen's Bureau
Lincoln and congress had passed the Freedmen's Bureau. The Freedmen's Bureau had let all blacks go to school. The Freedmen's Bureau also provided needs like food, clothing, and medical needs. -
Andrew Johnson
When Lincion died, Vice President Andrew Johnson took office. Andrew then went on to make the 13th, the 14th and the 15th ammendment. Andrew Served till the end of his term in March 1869. -
Civil Rights act of 1866
Granted full citizenship to all African Americans. The act also allowed blacks to run in fedeeral government .This law overturned the Black Codes. -
The Fourteenth Amendment
The Fourteenth Amendment was made to give full citizenship to anyone that was born in the United States. Later, the First reconstruction acts are made. -

16 African Americans served in the House of Reps. until 1880. Blanche K. Bruce was a black Senator. -

The Three remaining states to rejoin the Union were Missisipi, Virginia, and Texas. These states took three more years to form. -

Congress passed many laws to stop the klan. The name of the Klan was Ku Klux Klan. -
End of the First Reconstruction Act
In 1877, the first reconstruction acts had ended. The second act will ccome soon. -
Jim Crow Laws
Required seperatrion of colored and whites. Only Southern states had passed these laws. This was also called segregation.
