    Event Association of Instructors of the Blind
    This association was a very important step taken in the advancement of the Special Education community. THey held one of the first meetings in the American continent to discuss with the congress about loaning them money to help the blind. This was one of the first of many steps as the government was finally seeing the disabled as people who had rights.
  • Council for Exceptional children

    Council for Exceptional children
    The Council was made from a group of supervisors attending college at NYU.This group was the first group of educators to support children with disabilities. This group of educators advocated for the children's rights to have a free chance of public education.
  • Cuyahoga Council for Retarded Citizens

    Cuyahoga Council for Retarded Citizens
    This council was established by parents of children who attended public school. It was created because they wanted to allow their children to have the same opportunities and be treated equally.
  • National Association for Retarded Citizens

    National Association for Retarded Citizens
    This association was the first to fund the research of disabled citizens. This created a gateway to better access and more information on these citizens. Which allowed them to better assist them to make them succeed.

  • Lyndon B. Johnson

    After parents started forming groups to advocate for their children with disabilities. Lyndon B. Johnson started singing different acts for the children . He signed off on having more inclusivity in public schools and for funding.

    This foundation was a public charity event dedicated to raising money for the mentally or physically disabled. The reason these foundations were created was because they wanted to provide support, from financial to emotional support for those in need.
  • National Center for learning disabilities

    The National Center for learning disabilities was made to help people learn more about different disabilities and the different attention each need.   • Americans Act with disabilities

    Americans Act with disabilities
    The American Act with disabilities was the first law created for the disabled. It stated that you aren't’ allowed to discriminate against anyone who is disabled in any kind of way. This paved a way to finally allow the disabled to have the same rights and be treated just like everyone else.
  • No Child Left Behind

    No Child Left Behind
    This organization was created by President Bush for schools to basically leave no child behind. It made sure that everyone got the same education and no one was discriminated against by any indifference they may or may not have. It also made it so that the teachers would be held accountable for how the students did in class.
