Salyut 1 was the first space station ever made, and was lauched by the Soviet Union in April 19, 1971.

Jul 29, 1972

This is another station made by the USSR. It failed to launched on its first day;

Salyut 2

Apr 3, 1973

This was a space station created by the USSR. After three days, the launch of this station resulted in failure.

Kosmos 557

May 11, 1973

It was a space station originally called DOS-3, but due to its failure to orbit, it was renamed Kosmos 557.

Skylab

May 14, 1973

This space station was launched by NASA. This orbited teh earth from 1973 to 1979.

Salyut 3

May 25, 1974

It was the first station (made by the USSR) to be launched successfuly. To hide its true military nature, it was put in the Salyut Program.

Salyut 4

Dec 26, 1974

It was a copy of DOS-3, but it was actually successful unlike the original.

Salyut 5

Jun 22, 1976

Also known as OPS-3. was a soviet union space station, and was launched in 1976 as part of the Salyut Programme.

Salyut 6

Sep 29, 1977

This station was the first type of the second generation type of space station.

Salyut 7

Apr 19, 1982

This is the last station in the Salyut program, which is replaced by Mir.

This was the first modular station, and was also the station with the most amount of human prescence of space, until surpassed by ISS.
