STS-51A Discovery
Dale A. Gardner and Joseph P. Allen,two of the crew,recovered 2 failed satellites. A Canadian communication satellite and a defense satellite were launched. -
STS-51L Challenger
There was an explosion 73 seconds after liftoff that killed the crew and destroyed the shuttle. A failure in a right solid rocket booster caused the explosion. Cold weather,also,didn't help. -
STS-34 Atlantis
The Galileo space craft was sent out for a six-year trip to Jupiter and possible observations of two asteroids Gaspra and Ida. Many other scientific experiments well done by the crew. -
STS-99
The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission mast was deployed nicely to its full length, and the feeler was turned to its operation position.
