Colonization
In 1652, a century and a half after the discovery of the Cape Sea Route, Jan van Riebeeck established a refreshment station at the Cape of Good Hope, at what would become Cape Town. Consequently, the Dutch took Cape Town Colony under their control. -

Britian took over Cape Town colony. -
Independent States
During the 1830s, 12,000 Boers departed from the Cape Colony, where they had been subjected to British control. They migrated to the future Natal. The Boers founded the Boer Republics: the South African Republic and the Orange Free State in 1850. -

Diamonds and Gold!
The discovery of diamonds in 1867 and gold in 1884 in the interior started the Mineral Revolution and increased economic growth and immigration. -

Second Boer War
The Second Boer War was fought between the British Empire and the Afrikaans-speaking Dutch settlers of two independent Boer republics. It ended with a British victory and the annexation of both republics by the British Empire; both would eventually be incorporated into the Union of South Africa, a dominion of the British Empire, in 1910. -
Union of South Africa
the South Africa Act 1909 created the Union of South Africa from the Cape and Natal colonies, as well as the republics of Orange Free State and Transvaal, on 31 May 1910, eight years after the end of the Second Boer War. The newly created Union of South Africa was a British dominion. -
Apartheid
Apartheid became the official policy of South Africa. -
ANC
The ANC became more agressive in their protests. -
US and Britian
United States and Britian agreed to impose economic sanctions against South Africa. -
