    In the begining the boy is talking about how his dad got sounder and hes talking about how sounder followed the dad home, one day and they decided to keep sounder.

    the boy says that sounde is big and bold and brave and how he always protects his family. In the story sounder gets taking by the boys dad, and the dad takes sounder out hunting.

    The boys family seems poor because they have to scrape corn for money. And in the story slavary just ended so peopl are still racist.

  • The three deputies

    The three deputies
    One day three deputies come and are mad because they knew the boys dad had stolen a pig. and they were taking him to jail and sounder was wildly mad because he wanted to kill those deputies so hes got loose from the boy and was running after the wagon and the deputie shot sounder on the side of his body.

  • Finding sounder

    the boy was devistated because sounder was gone he was some where else and the boy was criing and triing to find him but the mom didnt even care she said '' get in side its only goanna die''

  • Baking Cake

    The boys mom was saving her money and was baking a cake for her husband in jail and she sent the boy to go because women were not allowed in jail so the boy went and the gaurd nocked over the cake to see if there were a gun or somthing in it. the boy extremly mad at the gaurd he wanted him to die under his porch.

  • Dont act perkish

    before the boys mom sent the boy to the jail the mom said dont act perkish and happy to see them because the gaurds can do anything they want.

  • Sounder Dead

    after sounder was around for a while the boy and his mom were looking for sounder and so they looked under the porch and found sounder laying there dead under the porch and it kind of relates to when the boys mom said that creatures like to die under stuff like porches.

  • Daddy come home

    then one day after sounder dies the dad comes home from prison and the next morning he wasnt breathing so they made a funaral for him and that was the story of sounder.
