  • The day I was born

    The day I was born
Live Experience/Event This was a significant life event for me and my family because it symbolizes the beginning of my life and all the possibilities.
  • I started attending school

    I started attending school
Social Institution This is the first time where I navigated the education system and its set of norms and expectations. It influenced how I learned and my academic journey.
  • Started attending at a new university

Started attending at a new university
Social Norms Moving to a new school/university (De La Salle University) for my grades 11 and 12 after 11 years of staying in one was so scary for me, yet it was one of the best decisions that I ever made in my life, as it shaped me big time into who I am today. One of the highlights is that it taught me how to adapt to new social norms that I wasn't aware of before, such as inclusivity regardless of your race, gender, ethnicity, etc.
  • Joined various organizations

    Joined various organizations
Role Strain During that time, aside from being a member of various organizations, such as school journalism, student council committees, commissions on elections, etc., I was also a student who had 8 courses per semester. The responsibilities and expectations of my role demand a lot of time and energy from me. Though it took a lot of time and energy from me, this event still influenced me to develop some of the skills that I am still using today, as well as meet a lot of new people.
  • Moved to Canada

    Moved to Canada
Role Conflict I used role conflict in this event as moving to Canada demanded a lot of expectations from me from my different roles. As a child in the family, as a friend, and as a student. In the end, I moved to Canada and had to restart my grade 12 to graduate high school. Even though there were conflicting demands and roles that brought stress to me, it still shaped me to be resilient and develop emotional strength in me.
