    Massacre at Mystic
    The colonists and native tribes from Connecticut planned an attack on the Pequot Native American tribe. This was because the Pequots were more advanced than many Native American groups and the colonists did not want to deal with the differing opinions. This was very violent and eventually, most Pequot structures were burnt down.
  • The Scalp Act

    The Pennsylvania government passed the act that rewarded any person who got a scalp money. it was a bounty and Native American scalps were worth more money than white scalps. This was passed in response to the massacres.

    When population was taken as a factor for representatives, the South wanted their slaves to count as a population so that they got more representation. The 3/5 Compromise was an agreement to count the slaves as 3/5ths of a person.
