This was to provde relief, by dropping supplies into Somalia for the hungry and the sick.

Operation RESTORE HOPE

Dec 8, 1992

This Operation was a humanitarian mission; to help the starving and dying Somalians. we provided protection, supplies and resources to many Somalian refugees and civilians, and to evacuate many more Somalians.

Operation CONTINUE HOPE

May 4, 1993

General Bir takes control of forces in somalia as UNOSOM 2 assumed the misson.

JSOTF

Aug 22, 1993

The new Secretary of Defense, Les ASpin, directed the deployment of a joint special operations task force JSOTF to Samalia in response to attacks made b Aided supporters upoon American and UNOSOM forces and installations.

3 and 4 October

Oct 4, 1993

on the 3rd and 4th of Octoboer 16 died, and 57 were wounded. one more killed, 12 wounded. overall, between 500-1,500.

Ending of Operation CONTINUE HOPE

Mar 25, 1994

Most American troops have been pulled out of Somalia, ending OP CONTINUE HOPE.
