Going to kindergarten
When I was 5 I went to kindergarten at Immanuel Lutheran. I was scared because my best friend was not in my class and I did not know a lot of people and I didn't get to be with my mom all day anymore, but with that I learned independence. The agent of socialization was school. -
Changing schools
When I was 7 I moved and changed schools for first grade. Again I remember crying every morning because the only person I knew was my neighbor who was in 4th grade at the time. It was also my first time at a public school this socialized me because it taught me how to meet new people. The agent of socialization was school. -
Moving dance studios
I was 8 when I moved dance studios. It was my first year doing competitive dance. This influenced me because it taught me how to work with a team and hard work. The agent of socialization is team. -
COVID and online learning
When I was 11 COVID happened closing all schools. I remember at first being happy but then after the schools got canceled all year I was sad. My parents kept telling me to be grateful that we lived in a big house and in an area where we can go outside and that I had a pool. This taught me to always be grateful for what I have. Joining cross country
When I was 15 I decided to join cross country. I was nervous because I only knew a couple of people and I could not run a lot. Over time I got better but I had to learn a lot of determination and girt. This taught me to keep trying because good things take time. The agent of socialization is team. -
My first job
When I was 15 I started to work a music studio. It was my first job and we were also switching sign up programs. It can be stressful but working at this place teaches me how to handle different situations and different people. I talk to younger kids and older adults. The agent of socialization is peer groups.
