Siren's analysis
In my analysis Odysseus didn't lose anything, because his men decided to listen, and Odysseus communicated. The man probably gained a little bit more trust in him. I think we learned that they all could have made it home if they communicated more. They probably learned about sirens. -

Cyclops analysis
During their time on the island of Cyclopes Odysseus learned not to go into people's home uninvited. Odysseus lost almost all of his men with only having six of them left. What we learned about Odysseus and his men think that they can walk into anyone's one home uninvited. This plays into the theme of the Odyssey by it limiting the number of people, and making it sad that they won't be able to go back to Ithaca. -

Odysseus and his men encounter Scylla and Charybdis, while going through a narrow channel. Scylla who was a six headed monster, and Charybdis a giant whirlpool.
