Treaty of Paris 1763
The Treaty of Paris 1763 was a document that ended the French and Indian War which caused the French to lose the land they fought for. The colonist had the support of the British to win the war. Because of that, that caused the colonist to pay the taxes. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 happend after the French and Indian War. The document sat aside the land west of the Applicashion Mountains for the Indians that King George ||| made. King George wrote that document to thak the Indians for helping them fight. -
Stamp Act
It happened one March 22, 1765 it happened because of the British wanted more money from the colony's becasue the British helped them out with the French and Indian war. The Stamp Act taxed every piece of paper or document that was used, for example newspapers, licenses, and legal documents. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was an Act that the British Parliment reliced, that provided housing for British soilder's in the colonys. Which made the colonists very angry. If they did not have enough room for the British soldiers they had to give up there barns, inns, and etc. -
Townshend Act
The Townshend Act happened somewhere in January. The TownShend Act was another one of the British's way to get money back from the colony's. The Townshend Act happened after the Stamp Act. Something else is that The Townshed Act taxed factory made goods like, glass, lead, paper, and etc. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre happened when the colonist refused to pay the taxes for the Townshed Act. When the king found out he sent troops to the colony's to starten them out. Somebody ended up throwing a snowball at the troops, which caused the troops to fire killing 5 colonists. John Adam was part of the fight with the British troops. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act happned on May 10, 1773 it was passed by the British Parliment. The Tea Act was the last act that the colonist had to pay taaxes on. The Tea Act led up to the Boston Tea Party. The idea of the Tea Act was for the British could reduce the number of tea the East India Company had, so they bailed it on the Colony's and charged high prices. -
Boston Tea Party
It happened because the colonist were getting tried of the extra taxes they had to pay because of the king. So once they British gave the colonist the Tea Act they were angry. When it was in the middle of the night Samual Adams and a few more people dressed themself like Mohawk Indians. They boarded the three British ships The Eleanor, The Beaver, and The Dartmouth and dumped the tea over board and into the Atlantic Ocean. -
Olive Branch Petition
The Olive Branch Petition was a document that the Second Continetal Congress sent to the king to tell him that they wanted to have there own goverment, but not to be free. But when it got to the King he just tore it up and sent more troops to the colonys. The reason they sent the document is because they did not want to start a fight with Great Britian, at least not yet. -
Common Sense Document
It was a documet that Thomas Paine made to relation to how the Patriots won freedom for the thirteen colonys. It was about how people needed to stand up what was right and tell King George ||| what they think. Another thing was that he showed that the colonys had no other way to show there rights then to fight for what they want. One last thing is that he used plain simple common sense words and events. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was a document that stated that the thirteen colonys wanted to be free from Great Britian. The document also started the Revolutionary War. Also Thomas Jefferson drafted the document. Get this when the document was done the head of the Second Continetal Congress, John Hancock signed his name REALLY big for that the ing could read it without his glasses. -
Treaty of Paris 1783
It was a docuent that ended the Revolutionary War and showed that the United Colonists were independte. Get this there were five people from the Continetal Army that were selected to go to recieve the document, they were John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Laurens. The cause of the Treaty of Paris set the colonists free from Great Britian.
