Black Lives Matter
A post on Facebook titled “A Love Note to Black People” said “Our Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter.” After this was posted the response “#BlackLivesMatter” was posted and that is how the movement was born. The movement has continued to gain traction and fight for rights of the African-American community. -
2016 Presidential Debat
During the election of 2016 Russia used Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to spread propaganda about trump in an attempt to sway the election. -
#MeToo
This movement was introduced in 2006 by Tarana Burke but really took off in 2007 when Alyssa Milano called out Harvey Weinstein for sexual assault and harassment. -
Venezuela Protests
Protests started as an effort to remove the president Nicolas Maduro. There was circulation of videos on many forms of social media of threats that were made to protesters.
