    Bohr Model
In 1913 Niels Bohr partnered with Ernest Rutherfurd to release the Bohr model. While it is based on the solar system model in design it goes over atomic physics. This system shows how many protons, electrons, and ions are contained within an atom. This allowed for easier teaching and understanding of atoms. To say this was successful in an understatement as it is still used today. I was taught this model at a young age when I was only in the fourth grade.
  • Institute of Physics

    Institute of Physics
Having such a large reputation and knowledge he campaigned to open the Institute of Physics. Not only did he want to teach students himself, but he also wanted a space for everyone to learn. The institute then served as a primary location for researchers to study quantum mechanics.
  • Nobel Prize

    Nobel Prize
The Nobel Prize in Physics 1922 was awarded to Niels Henrik David Bohr "for his services in the investigation of the structure of atoms and of the radiation emanating from them.
  • Manhattan Project

    Manhattan Project
Towards the end of World War two the Nazi’s considered Bohr Jewish which cashed him to flee the country. Due to his understanding of atoms, he was contacted shortly after to help with the Manhattan Project. This project was the creation of the atomic bombs that were then used to end World War two. https://youtu.be/ClhLnZtgcsE
