    I dont have an exact date but i bieleve that some time in 1846 Dred Scott was suing for his freedom. How crazy was that. I bet they thought he was joking but no he wasnt. He was Suing because his owner had taken him to live where slavery was illegal. Now think, back then african americans didnt have any rights.
