Simon discovers "Blue"
An anonymous guy, under the nickname "Blue" at creek wood high school comes out as gay in a post at the schools gossip-website called creeksecrets. Simon is also gay and closeted. He sees this as an opportunity to talk to someone in the same situation as himself, and they end up exchanging emails. -
Simon gets blackmailed
A dorky kid at Simon`s school; Martin Addison, uses the computer at the library right after Simon and ends up finding, reading and screenshotting Simons emails with Blue. He uses them to blackmail Simon into setting him up with Abby, a girl who just moved there from DC, which is one of Simon`s closest friends. -
Is Cal Blue?
Simon suspects that Cal Price, a boy in their theatre group is Blue. They are both in the theatre group and get along with each other. Simon finds Cal cute, and hopes he is the one he has been talking to over email. -
Simon comes out to Abby
Simon, Martin and Abby goes to the Waffle House to practise their lines for the school play "Oliver". On the way home, with only Abby and Simon in the car, Simon comes out as gay to her. She is the first person besides Blue he has ever told. -
Simon is in love with Blue
Simon realizes he is in love with Blue. They have been talking over email for a while now and Simon is now starting to realize his feelings for this anonymous boy. -
Martin outs Simon
Martin publishes a post at creeksecrets, exposing Simon as gay for the entire school to see. Abby just rejected Martin, and he got really upset. He noticed the way Abby acted with Simon and got the impression that she liked him, and that Simon had been messing with him all along. -
Simon comes out to his family and friends
His sister Nora and his friends had already seen the post that Martin posted so Simon had no other choice than admit to them that it was true. He shortly came out to his parents as well. -
Simon gets grounded
Simon, Abby and Nick go to a bar. Simon gets drunk for the first time, and when he comes home drunk to his parents they ground him for two weeks, confiscate his phone and his computer. In this state, he confronts his dad about how he "wishes Simon was straight " because of all the slightly homophobic jokes he used to tell. -
Martin apologizes
After a soccer game, Martin apologizes to Simon for outing him, but Simon does not accept his apology. He is furious that Martin took away something as important as this from him; the opportunity to come out when he was ready. -
Is Martin Blue?
Simon suspects that Martin is Blue. He gets scared that it might be Martin, but it does not add up. Cause why would Martin blackmail Simon, want him to set him up with Abby, and thus expose him if Martin himself was Blue all along? -
Leah is left out
Leah, one of Simon`s closest friends, is upset that Simon and her friends hung out without her at the bar. Leah, Simon, Abby and Nick are always doing things together, and now she feels left out. -
Simon´s dad apologizes
Simon has a proper conversation with his parents about him coming out to them. His father apologizes for not making it easy for Simon to come out, because of him telling gay related jokes and joking about Simon getting girls pregnant and so on. -
Abby finds out about the blackmailing
Abby finds out about Simon secretly setting her up with Martin because of the blackmailing. She is upset that Simon was trying to control her love life, but forgives him regardless. -
Blue gets revealed
Simon finds out who Blue is. He meets Simon in one of the carousels at the carnival, and it turns out to be Bram. A cute, soccer player who often sits with Simon and his friends during lunch. -
Blue and Simon kiss
At school, Bram and Simon decides to go out to have lunch, and they have their first kiss in Bram`s car. They officially become boyfriends. -
Simon apologizes to Leah
Leah drops Simon`s sister Nora off at his house, and Simon grabs the opportunity to apologize to Leah for not including her when going out. She forgives him, but Leah also admits that she is disappointed that Simon came out to Abby first and not her. She and Simon had been friends since forever, whereas Simon and Abby had been friends for only a few months.
