YouTube is Launched
Despite myself not using YouTube until 2009, the debut of YouTube on the Internet would shape education as we know it. Students would use this as a way of a fun escape from school, while teachers would slowly utilize this tool in the classroom to explain concepts. Chromebooks are Implemented in my High School
The 2017-2018 school year saw a trial run of Chromebooks within Wahama High School for the incoming freshman that year. While the rest of the school did not have access, the freshmen were given the opportunity to use these Chromebooks for completing online classwork that was given during class. Teachers were forced to implement the Chromebooks within their lesson plans. After this trial run, the rest of the school would be given access the following year. -

TikTok is Banned in the United States (for 12 hours)
Per the United States government's decision, TikTok was banned from use in the United States. While it did only happen for 12 hours, this could bring a dangerous precedent of banning applications. While it is considered to be "social media," it did give educators the opportunity to see other educators at work to foster creativity within the discipline. TikTok also has an impact on student mood and how they receive information.
