  • Invasion Of Poland

    1.5 million German troops invaded Poland. The invasion of Poland forced France and Britain to join the war against Germany.

  • Blitzkrieg

    Blitzkrieg also known as the "lightening war", is a military tactic highly used by Hitler. It's ultimate aim is to create disorganisation. Germany first tried this method in the invasion of Poland. After its sucess, Hitler used it in several other battles.

  • Evacuation of Dunkirk

    Britain moved their ships to the port of Dunkirk, rescuing 340,000 British, French and Belgium soliders from the beach.

  • Battle Of Britain

    German and British forces fought through their air forces. Although Germany had extensive planning in the attack they failed to gain leadership over the attack. Britain were able to take control without resulting to on ground fighting.

  • The Blitz; London Blitz

    German bombsers were spotted in the afternoon of septetmber 7th. This was one on Hitlers tactics to try and take control of Britain and destroy the British population. It was a period of immense bombing for London, people took shelter underground and even left the main cities.

  • Battle Of Tobruk

    The Battle Of Tobruk was located in an Libiyian town, several fights occured here involving the Australian troops. Italians were attacked by Australians.

  • Operation Barbarossa

    Hitlers desire was to invade the Soviet Union, plans had been made since 1940. Operation Barbarossa is the largest military attack of Word War two and had horrible consequences for Russia.

  • Pearl Habour

    Hundred of Japanese fighter planes attacked the U.S at Pearl Harbour. U.S immediately claimed war on Japan and joined World War Two. Effects on America were devastating, 2,000 soliders and sailors died.

  • Fall Of Singapore

    The Fall Of Singapore is known as one of the greates defeats in history of the Brtisish army. Many Australians were based in Singapore at the time, they ended up being captured and tortured. The Fall of Singapore is said to have resulted in the Darwin bombings.

  • Battle Of Midway

    U.S was victorious against Japans attempt to attack. US anticipated the attack and suceeding in destroying four Japanese air crafts, creating permanent damage to the Japanese army.

  • Battle Of Stalingrad

    Known as one of the bloodiest battles ever as well as the best battles of the war. The battle plays a key part to the end of the war showed how the German army were becoming weak.

  • D Day Landing

    D Day Landind is the invasion of Norway and Western Europe. American, British and Canadian forces landed on a 50 mile stretch along the beach of Frances Normady region. Extensive planning was involved and is known as one of the largest military assaults in history.

  • Dropping Of The Atomic Bomb

    The first time anyone had ever used atomic weaponary. U.S dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and marked the end of World War Two.
