Emmancipation Proclamation
On January 1,1873 Lincoln announced that the slaves in the rebellion areas against government would be free. This free no slaves. The Emmancipation Proclamation and Lee's defeat ended any chance that France and Great Britain would intervene in the war. -
13th Ammendment
The 13th ammendment was passed on Jan. 31,1865 and was ratified December 6, 1865. This abolished slavery in the United States. -
