OJ Simpson Trial Begins
The OJ Simpson trial was one of the most highly publicized events of 1995 as it placed the issue of race and justice right in front of the eyes of the American people. This trial is commonly referred to as a "watershed" trial because it proved to African Americans that their 5th ammendment right, "Innocent Until Proven Guilty," will be upheld in court when there is a doubt within the system. -
New York becomes the 38th state to allow the death penalty
The passing of the bill that allowed the death penalty in New York ended the 18 year battle to reenact the former death penalty law. The passing of this bill also made the murders of police officers, prison guards, and judges punishable by death. -

The usage of this vaccine led to a decrease in the morality rate due to chicken pox. The creation of this vaccine also caused controversy because cell lines created from aborted fetal tissue were used to create the vaccine. -

Windows 95 featured built-in internet support, dial-up networking, and Plug and Play capabilites that made it easier to install new hardware and software. US Federal Court Votes that Cable Companies Must Carry Local Stations
After cable companies started dropping local television stations to accommodate more profitable stations, the US Federal Court votes that cable companies must carry the local television stations. This vote was decided after enough evidence was gathered proving that cable companies had the ability potentionally cause a local station to declare bankruptcy if they were to be denied cable access.
