    What made Crosby different from every other hockey player is that his development started somewhere where nobody had developed. Crosby development started in his grandmother’s house in the basement. He shot pucks at a whirlpool dryer that nobody was using for his shooting skills. He would spend most of his time shooting at the whirlpool dryer when he wasn’t playing hockey.

    Crosby’s years as a young hockey player were similar to what Wayne Gretzky had gone through when he was a young hockey player. Crosby benefitted from the support of his family but the main support came from Crosby’s father just like Gretzky. Crosby’s dad helped him through practice and playing hockey games at local rinks and even in his grandmother’s basement.

    When Crosby was 13 years old he had accomplished a lot. His teams won city, provincial and Atlantic championships which got people more interested in Crosby. Crosby also lead team Nova Scotia to it’s best 5th place finish in a provincial tournament and he also lead them to another best place finish which was 3rd and his team won a bronze medal.

    Crosby played for Team Canda at the under 18 world cup in Slovakia and in Czech Republic when he just turned 16. He scored 6 points in 5 tournament games, and Team Canada didn't win a medal in the tournament losing 8-2 to the Czech Republic. Crosby was the youngest player on Team Canada in the tournament.

    Crosby first played for Rimouski Oceanic in 2003. In his first exhibition game, he had scored 8 points and in his first regular season game he scored 3 points with Rimouski. Many people came to watch Crosby play.

    Crosby played for the Under 20 team for Canada at the World Junior Championships. He was the youngest person ever to score in tournament history. He scored 5 points in 6 games in the tournament. Canada went on to win silver after losing the gold medal to the United States. This was Crosby's first Junior medal in international play.

    Crosby ended his rookie season with Rimouski winning 7 awards that season including top CHL player of the year award. He scored 135 points in 59 regular season games that season. Rimouski only made it to the semi-finals that season. Crosby also won the Canadian Major Junior top rookie award at 16 making him the youngest player ever to win the award.

    Crosby played on the Under 20 team for team Canada during the 2005 world Junior championships. Crosby played along with Nhl rookies due to a lockout. Crosby recorded 9 points in 6 games and Crosby and Team Canada went on to win a gold medal.This was Crosby's first Junior gold medal.

    Crosby agreed and signed a mulit year, multi million dollar contract with Reebok. Crosby was one of those few people to land a contract with Reebok without reaching the major level yet in sports.

    Sidney crosby ended his second season with Rimouski leading the league again with 168 points in 62 games. Rimouski also ended the season on a franchise record best 28 game winning streak while finishing first in the league, winning the President's trophy.

    Rimouski Oceanic went on to win the President's cup beating the Halifax mooseheads 4-0 for a series sweep. Crosby went on to win 6 trophies including Playoff MVP. Since Rimouski won the President's cup, they would qualify for the 2005 memorial cup.

    Rimouski made it to the Memorial cup finals against the London Knights. But Rimouski lost the game 4-0 and the London knights won the Memorial Cup. Crosby won the Ed Chynoweth trophy as the top leading scorer.

    Crosby would end his junior career and he would be heading to the NHL when the season starts in October. Crosby knew that he would likely be drafted first overall but he didn't know what team would draft him. Rimouski would be known as the team to have one of the greatest players in junior history.

    Sidney crosby attented the Nhl combine just about a week until the NHL draft. Many people watched crosby do his training. Crosby learned new training techniques that he never encountered before at the combine. Crosby didn't put up impressive numbers but not many people seemed to care because they all know he is a talanted hockey player on the ice.

    Sidney crosby would be drafted first overall in the Nhl draft. The Pittsburgh Penguins would be the team that would draft him. Crosby would join a team that had Mario Lemieux as the owner of the team and a legendary hockey player. Crosby would soon start playing in the Nhl.
