Short-term and Long-term Impacts

  • Getting a Dog!

We are thinking of getting dog, but don't know if we can take care of the dog as we should. Guess we need to discus it more and find the right choice.
  • Made the Decision

The whole family agreed that if we all do a small part in helping take care of a new puppy we could get one.
  • Right Decision

It's been a couple months from getting the dog and everyone is doing their part. It was a good idea to assign people jobs for our new dog. We named her Bailey and she is very happy living with us. Hopefully this happiness with last!
  • Someone Isn't Doing Their Part

It has now been a year with the dog and my older sister isn't helping with feeding and walking the dog. I guess the small tasks we have don't apply to her. I end up doing the things she's supposed to do, I'm okay with it now I get to spend more time with Bailey.

"This combination of steps is the result of a domino effect
where one event produces similar and connected events
to start as well."(page 8). The domino effect is what is happening when my sister and now my dad are deciding they don't need to tke care of Bailey.
  • Down to 2

Now only my mom and I take care of Bailey, We alternate feeding and giving her medicines. I now give her a lot of attention and play with her. My dad does walk her and cuddle with her some, but not very often.

"And thus we come to our second major ally for dealing with
our own brain: routine. "(page 9). This is perfectly explaining that my sister and dad are now in the habit of not helping with Bailey. Their brain got out of the routine of taking car of her and they mostly juust pet her once in a while.
  • Healthy Decision

This was the healthy decision because now I have learned to have many responsibilities at once, it has allowed me to be flexible. Even though some of us aren't doing our part the rest are and we are a happy family.
