the shoes were made of leather . women were not allowed to show their ankles . narrow feet were the fashion. shoes were not a prominent in anybodys wardrobe . they either laced up or buckled .

1910

1920

women's legs were bare and covered in flesh colored stockings, shoes became more important and decorative. T-strapped shoe with a heel and buckle. shoes were decorated with bows and stuff.

1930

women began to wear peep toe pumps which showed a tiny bit of their toenails.

1940

wedge heels were standard . thick sturdy heels made walking easier . started decorating shoes with stuff and bright colors

shoes in the 50s

these are called fitties as well as the saddle shoe .everybody wore them . heavy and rather stiff. a modern athletic shoe in the day
