    The Ku Klux Klan was formed in 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee as a terrorists organization by veterans of the Confederate Army. Although most of their hatred and anger is focused on blacks, they are racist against any other race besides those who are of white decendancy. They would have huge meetings where they would burn crosses and lynch those who they thought needed lynching.

    Emmet Till was a boy of only 14 years old who, in my opinion, got the worse out of America's racism. At a local grocery store while he was visiting family down in Mississippi. While there, he hit on a white woman and soon after was hunted down, beaten, had his eye gouged out, shot in the head then sunk in a river with a 70 lb cotton gin tied to him with barbed wire.

    In a society where blacks and whires are separated, blacks were forced ti give up their seats to whites on the bus. Rosa Parks refused to do so. She was tired from a long day of work and didn't feel like standing. She was arrested for refusing to give it up. This was not the only time she had done so.

    Considered to be one of the most important events of the African-American Civil Rights Movement, on September 4th, 1957, nine african american students were enrolled in Little Rock Central High, the first ever to attend a racially segregated school. But, on their first day of school, huge mobs were outside blocking them from entering along with a line of soldiers from the Arkansas National Guard. The mayor of Little Rock eventually asked President Eisenhower to send federal troops for support.

    The 24th amendment was brought to congress' attention in 1962 to prohibit both Congress and the states from segregating voting in federal elections on payments of a poll or other type of tax. The amendment was finally ratified in 1964 on January 23rd.

    Around12.30 p.m. JFK's limo drove by Dealey Plaza. Soon afterwards a shot was fired. Secret Service agent Roy Kellerman told the driver, William Greer, "let's get out of here." But instead he hits the breaks. More bullets were fired and John F. Kennedy was hit by bullets that hit him in the head and the left shoulder. Another bullet hit John Connally in the back. Lee Harvey Oswald was the accused murderer but i think it was something bigger

    Malcolm X was 39 years old and the leader of a militant black nationalist movement. He was shot to death on February 21st in the evening at a rally of his followers in a ballroom in Washington Heights. The murderers were members of the Nation of Islam, they shot him with a shotgun.

    The Black Panthers were an African American revolutionary leftist organization. The Black Panther Party achieved national and international notice through supporting the "Black Power" movement during the civil rights era. Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton founded the group on October 15 1966.
