John tried to join the military and was rejected because of his weak lungs. Seen a sign saying the RNWMP were looking for recruits. That he was surprised that he got in because his lungs couldn't of got that much better in two weeks. the RNWMP need more people because most men went to the war after their term was up. -
John joins the Blaine lake RNWMP and meets Jessie Patterson
Had traveled many times far away from Blaine lake on missions. lived in a small building on main street that the town council purchased. he was a corporal. john had to swear to follow the oath I will faithfully diligently and impartially execute and perform my duties in the royal north west mounted police force without fear favour or affection of or towards any person or party so help me god -
John is diagnosed with tuberculosis

Him and Jessie got dressed and went to her parents. When jack went into the church the minister told him that he couldn't marry them he was ordained yet. Jessie was mad when John told her that they couldn't get married. Jessie had enough of john putting their marge a side. John told her that they will go to Saskatoon that day to get married. They went to Saskatoon and got married that day. -
