Sergio "Kun" Agüero

    Sergio Leonel Agüero del Castillo, was born on June 2, 1988 in Quilmes, Buenos Aires.
  • The beginning

    Sergio had his beginnings on the soccer field when he was only 5 years old, when his main fun was kicking the ball. He played in the dirt fields of his city and even with higher categories until he entered the “Loma Alegre” children's soccer school.
  • First recognition

    In 1998, at the age of 9, he first appeared on the cover of a sports newspaper when he won the final of a local tournament, from there he began to be known in the world of football.

    At the age of 13, he won his first championship with Independiente's ninth junior division.     In 2006 and after his great performance in "Independiente", Agüero was transferred to "Atlético de Madrid". The Argentine played as a "rojiblanco" forward in 230 games and scored 100 goals. In addition, together with Diego Forlán, Agüero attended 46 times, making his team win the Europa League in the 09/10 season, as well as the UEFA Super Cup the following season.

    While playing in Spain, Kun Agüero was summoned by the Argentine National Team to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. During the semifinal against Brazil, Sergio scored 2 goals that gave them a winning result of 3 to 0 and the pass to the final of the tournament. They took Olympic gold by beating Nigeria 1-0, defending the title won in 2004.
