Present Day TaskigiSequoyah was born, though exact date is unknown, in Taskigi, on the Tennessee River. He got the name Sikwo-yi, "pig's foot" in Cherokee, probably from the fact he was lame in the left leg. -

Sequoyah's Death
Seqoyah dies, aged 65-70. Burial place is unknown, but is supposed to be in either Mexico (there he took a journey with the annuity given to him by the Chrokee Council), Texas, or Oklahoma.
