    The Women's political council did a one day boycott to not ride the Montgomery busses.

    The boycott was successful with about 90 percent of African Americans joining the bus boycott, this day Martin Luther King Jr. was named the president of Montgomery improvement association.

    The MIA starts to have a carpool system for the people who are participating in the boycott to make a difference. The buses were losing a lot of money with African Americans not riding them.
  • Martin Luther King Jr.

    Martin Luther King Jr. was seen as the main man responsible for the boycott and he had to either pay a fine of 500 dollars or 386 days in jail.
  • Changes Coming

    The federal district court rules that the bus segregation is unconstitutional and decides to make a change.
  • Decision Made

    The Supreme Court orders the segregation on city buses are not permitted and is sent to Montgomery.
  • Official Change!

    The Montgomery City Hall ends the bus desegregated and the MIA boycott ends.
