Alexander G. Bell
Alexander G. Bell was also an inventor, and he invented the telephone. This would greatly impact the US because getting news around would be a lot faster. He has greatly impacted the US. -
ABRAHAM LINCOLN
Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United States in 1861, and was President until he was assassinated in 1865. He had a bug part in ending slavery in the United States. -
HENRY FORD
Henry Ford was the man that created Ford Motor Company, and is responsible for also created the assembly line. The assembly line made production a lot faster. -
Stock Market Crash
The stock market is commonly referred to as Black Tuesday, and on this day billions of dollars were lost. A rush of people began coming into the banks, and trading. The number of people who traded stocks on Black Tuesday rose to an astounding number of 12,894,650. This is one of the main events that led the United States into the Great Depression. -
Roosevelt 1st Election
This Presidential Election was the 37th Presidential Election in the United States, and the winner was Franklin D. Roosevelt. This election took place during the Great Depression. Franklin D. Roosevelt won with an electoral vote of 472, a popular vote of
22,821,277, and the number of states carried was 42. -

The CCC very commonly referred to as the Civilian Conservation Corps was a public work relief program. This program was open to unemployed single men, and they were put to work to help the environment. The CCC was operated during the Great Depression. -
Social Security Act
This act was put in place by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and provided aid for mainly the unemployed, elderly, and children. This act has been in effect for 83 years, and has been very successful and popular. -

Bobby Seale was one of the founders of the Black Panther Party, and was an american activist. He was convicted of killing of someone in the Panthers, but was later released. -
FDR Court Packing Scandal
The Court Packing Plan was put forth by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and this plan was to expand the Supreme Court to at least 15 judges. This plan was put forth to make the system more efficient. Many believed that FDR was trying to pack the courts, and change the decisions about the New Deal. -
Germany Breaks Munich Pact
The Munich Pact was signed by Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy. It stated that Nazi Germany be able to annex parts of Czechoslovakia. The Munich Pact was broken when Germany demanded that Sudetenland be annexed. -
HUAC Formed
HUAC stands for House Un-American Activities Committee, and its mission was to investigate the US house of representatives, private citizens, public employees, etc who might have communist ties and such. One of HUAC's big investigations was on Hollywood, as many thought the film industry was filled with communists. -
Battle of Britian
The Battle of Britain happened during WW2, and this is when the United Kingdom was being attacked by the Nazi air force, and the Royal Air Force defended the United Kingdom. This happened in the United Kingdom, and the United Kingdom in the end were victorious. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
The Attack on Pearl Harbor was orchestrated by Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service against the United States of America. This attack took place at the US Naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The USS battleship was completely destroyed in this attack, and more than 2,300 Americans were killed. -

Was one of the founders of the Black Panther Party, and was a political activist. He was charged with killing a cop, and spent 2-15 years. -
Operation Overlord/D-Day
Operation Overlord and D-Day are both the names for the Battle of Normandy. This invasion was done by the United States Military as well as some British, and Canadian forces. This took a lot of planning, and more than 156,000 forces "stormed" the beaches on the Normandy Region. This is still one of the largest amphibious assaults. -
FDR Dies/Truman President
FDR was in Warm Springs Georgia when he died due to a Cerebral Hemorrhage. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was not with him when he died, but she gave the news to Vice President Truman who would now be the President of the United States. FDR was the one who was handling the Great Depression, but that would now be Truman's duty as President. -
Nuclear Bomb dropped on Hiroshima/Nagasaki
The Nuclear bombing on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were done by the United States against the Japanese. The bombing at Hiroshima wiped out 90% of the city, and a total of 80,000 people were killed because of it. A couple days later another bomb was dropped, but this time on the city of Nagasaki and this killed roughly 40,000 people. -
United Nations Created
The United Nations was created in San Fransisco California, and incorporates 193 nations. A couple big members include the United States, the Republic of China, France, the Soviet Union, and the United Kingdom. The United Nations was created to make sure nothing like WW2 ever happened again. -
Truman Doctrine
The Truman Doctrine was passed by President Harry S. Truman, and this Doctrine was about giving support politically, economically, and militarily to all democratic nations that needed it. -
Berlin Airlift
The Berlin Airlift was created by the United States because they needed to get supplies, and food to West Berlin because the Russians cut off all of their resources to get supplies, and food. This lasted for more than a year, and a the total amount of cargo brought into West Berlin was 2.3 million tons. -
BERLIN BLOCKADE
The Berlin Blockade happened just at the beginning of the Cold War by the Soviet Union. This Berlin Blockade happened because the Soviet Union did not want France, Great Britain, or the United States to be able to get to their sectors in Berlin. It cut off West Berlin, but the US as well as some other countries started an airlift to get them supplies. -

Korean War (Beginning & End)
The Korean war was fought between the North and South Korea. The War began when the North invaded the South. North Korea had the Soviet Union, and China as its allies while South Korea had the United States. The United States military was sent to aid South Korea in the fight. An armistice was signed at the end of the war, and both sides stayed separated in their own land. -
Rosenberg Trials
The Rosenberg trials incorporated both Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, and they were being prosecuted for selling nuclear secrets to the Russians. They were charged with conspiracy to commit espionage and were both sentenced to death. -
Brown V. Board
In the Brown v Board of Education, Brown won and this was a very large achievement for the Civil Rights movement because it was deemed that it was unconstitutional to have segregated public schools. . This angered a ton of people, while exciting a ton of others. -

Vietnam War (Beginning & End)
This war is sometimes referred to as the Second Indochina War, and was fought between North Vietnam, and South Vietnam. North Vietnam's allies included the Soviet Union, and China. South Vietnam's allies were the United States, South Korea, Thailand, etc. This war started partly because the US was worried about communism spreading. The war was very intense, and it ended with Saigon was taken over by the communists. -
Sputnik
Sputnik was a satellite that was launched into space by the Russians. This was a big deal because it was the first Earth Satellite, but it only worked for 3 weeks before the batteries in it died. The United States stepped up its game in the arms race after Sputnik was launched. -
Greensboro Sit Ins
These sit ins were silent and nonviolent protests that happened in Greensboro, North Carolina and other places in the united states. Even though these protests were not violent many people were arrested. News of these "sit ins" spread and more and more people began participating in them. -
Freedom Rides
The freedom riders incorporated both whites and African Americans who were protesting segregated bus terminals. These rides took place in the South, and it grew more popular as time went on. Many people were arrested during these protests, and many people were upset that these rides were going on. -

Berlin Wall
The Berlin wall was constructed by the East Germans, and it was build to divide Berlin. The wall was built because many citizens were fleeing to the west from the east after Germany was divided. They built the wall to stop this from happening. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis happened when the US and the Soviet were in a standoff debating whether to install nuclear-armed soviet missiles in Cuba which was very close to the United States. In the end the United States and the Soviets made an agreement that the US would not invade Cuba if the Soviets removed the missiles. -
March on Washington
The March on Washington attracted more than 250,000 people and it was centered around the challenges, and inequalities that African Americans were facing. This protest that was located in Washington, and this is where Martin Luther King Jr. presented his "I have a Dream" speech. This was a very memorable march. -
Assassination of John F. Kennedy
John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. The shooting took place while President Kennedy, and his wife were riding through Dallas in a convertible. He was taken to the Dallas' Parkland Hospital, but sadly was pronounced dead after only 30 minutes. -
Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
This resolution was put in place by the United States Congress, and have the US authority to help Southeast Asian countries that were being pressured by communism. This resolution was put into affect due to the Gulf of Tonkin incident. -

Operation Rolling Thunder
Operation Rolling Thunder was orchestrated by the US military, and happened in North Vietnam. This resulting in a ton of bombings against the North Vietnam to have them understand that they are helping South Vietnam. This was one of the first big attacks the US did against North Vietnam. -
Assassination of Malcolm X
The Assassination of Malcolm X took place in Washington Heights in New York City on February 21st, 1965. He was shot right before making his speech on The Organization of Afro-American Unity. His killers were by the Nation of Islam members. -

This was a program made by the Black Panther Party. It was put in place to try and eliminate police brutality against African Americans. -
~Founding of Black Panther Party (1)
The Black Panther Party was created by Huey Newton, and Bobby Seale in 1966. This was the beginning of change for African Americans. -
~Free Huey Rally(2)
This rally was held by the Blank Panther Party after Newton Huey was being convicted of killing a police officer. The crowd was protesting, and Huey was eventually sentenced to 2-15 years. -
~Black Panther Members
The whole black panther members consisted of more than 10,000 people at its peak. It started at 31 members, and just kept growing. -
Tet Offensive
This is also referred to as the The General Offensive and Uprising of Tet Mau Than. This offense was composed of attacks orchestrated by the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam war. This was done to try, and make the US back off in the war. -
~FBI and the BPP
The Black Panther party was growing, and getting very powerful. The FBI tried to weaken the organization, and did weaken the BPP. -
Assassination of MLK
Martin Luther King was assassinated in his hotel called the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4th, 1968 by James Earl Ray He was in Memphis to support a sanitation workers' strike. His death is very saddening, and it shook the United States. -
Woodstock
Woodstock was a music festival that was located in the United States, and attracted over 400,000 people. Only two people died at this music festival which is surprising since there were so many people there. Some famous people that played in this musical festival included Crosby, Nash and Young, Grateful Dead, etc. -
~FBCP is created
FBCP stands for the Free Breakfast for Children Program which was organized by the Blank Panther Party. The BPP would make the food for the youth, and give it out to them. -

These were developed by the Black Panther Party because they wanted to give those who were not as fortunate, and didn't have a ton of money to be able to get medical help if needed. -
~Blank Panther Party Survival Programs (3)
These survival programs were made by the BPP, and were made to help people in the community get the things they needed. 60 of these survival programs were made. -
Kent State
A shooting happened at Kent State University after the Ohio National Guard fired, and killed four students and injuring nine others. This caused a lot of riots, and many other colleges started protesting which cause a ton of universities to close. -
Vietnam Day
Vietnam Day is celebrating in Vietnam, and is celebrated to commemorate the day that they read their declaration of independence. This also marks the day that Vietnam was no longer involved in Vietnam. -
RONALD REAGAN
Ronald Reagan was elected President of the United States in 1981, and served two terms. He almost died during an assassination attempt, but survived at lived till the age of 93.
