Pope thought that he trapped Jackson's and got most of his army to put the attention on him so he would not escape. -
Assults against Jackson
The Pope put assults on Jackson's position against the railroad grade. The attacks killed many people on both the Union and Confederate side. -
Thoroughfare Gap
James Longstreet came to the field and help Jackson's people by positioning himself on Jackson's right flank. -
