- Burt Bell and Lud Wray pay $2,500 to put the previous "Frankford Yellowjackets" in Philadelphia.[2]

Bell becomes sole owner
- In 1935 Burt Bell buys out the Philadelphia Eagles from Lud Wray and becomes the sole owner of the team after a 2-9 season[2]

Philadelphia and Pittsburgh
- Due to manpower shortage from WW2, the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers combined as one team to be known as both Pitt-Phil and the Steagles.[8]
- Greasy Neale and Walt Kiesling co-coached the team[8]
- During this time 600 coaches and players had been deployed and were fighting in the war[8]

- During the 1960 season, the Philadelphia Eagles gave Vince Lombardi his only recorded loss in postseason football as they beat him and his Green Bay team 17-13 in the NFL Championship.[4]
