Mary Jackson was born in April 9, 1921 in Virginia. She died in 2005 in February 11. Jackson was the first African American female engineer working at NASA in 1958. She was an mathematician and aerospace engineer. She graduate with the highest honour from Hampton University where she earned degrees in mathematics and physical science. At the time she started working at NASA it was very segregated and the black employees had a separated bathroom and working place. -
