    the lower paleolithic period is the longest stretching of the three and is over 200 thousand years ago. The lower paleolithic was dominated by Homo Erectus and their ancestor Homo Habilis. the technology was extremely primitive with only simple stone choppers and pebble tools

    Divje babe flute
    Although it is very disputed in the scientific community the Divje babe flute or tidldibab was one of the first early flutes discovered and is at least 60,000 years old and was found in northern Slovenia. it is so disputed because it is 20000 years older than other known flutes. The flute is made from a cave bear femur that has had holes drilled into it, it had 4 holes before being eroded and began withering wither away but has been reconstructed to what it is believed to have looked like.

    the middle period which spans from 200,000 years ago to about 30,000 years ago was an important time in the advancement of stone tools. in the middle era, flake tools were invented which allowed them to make things like knives. around this time the widespread use of fire was also very common.

    the upper paleolithic era was the shortest of the three from 30,000 years ago to around 10,000 years ago. the upper paleolithic saw the creation and use of more advanced tools as well as evidence of art being made.it also had tools being made of things besides stone such as Ivory, antlers and bone.

    the agricultural revolution happened around 10000 years ago when humans learned to farm the foods they liked and raise the animals they would hunt. this allowed them to stay in one place for much longer and have a sustainable food source. this meant they could build up their communities and focus on improving technologies.

    they learned how to create a stable source of food for ourselves by domesticating animals and farming crops. they then focused on building up housing and stayed in one place more permanently. things like pottery and weaving along with other arts started to appear more and stone tools shaped by grinding or polishing was much more common.

    by 8000 Bc there are already people settled in north mesopotamia on the eastern side of the fertile crescent. these civilizations relied on irrigation systems instead of rainfall allowing them to spread further south along the rivers. by 2500 bc rulers are building temples and palaces to display their power.

    the code of hammurabi was very important because it was the one of if not the first real set of laws. before, your actions still had consequences but this had them set in stone. these laws also helped unify the region of mesopotamia .
