Sarah Wilhite was born July 30th, 1995. Her parents names are Amy and Mark Wilhite. She graduated in 2013 and had a 3.89 GPA. -
Who she is
Sarah Wihite is a senior at the U of M and plays for the Minnesota gophers volleyball team. She is the outside hitter, is 6-1 and is originally from Eden Prairie Minnesota. She currently just got player of the year. -
Freshman year of collage
Her first season as a freshman she had 65 sets and had 88 kills, 10 aces, 123 digs and 31 total blocks. Had 10 kills and seven digs in her debut and had 22 kills in and four aces in three matches played -
Sophomore year of collage
Her second season as a sophomore she had 309 kills Played in 31 matches and 110 of possible 111 sets Produced a career-high 25 kills and 19 digs for a double double against Louisville (8/30). In that year she also was ranked 2nd on the team. -
Junior year of collage
She started of the season by leading the team with team with 16 kills vs. Texas A&M. Then saw action in 3 sets against No. 1 Penn State. She also added 11 kills in the five set win against Illinois. And she had a season-best eight digs in the win over Wisconsin. -
Senior year of collage
This year she got Big Ten Player of the Year and Unanimous All-Big Ten. She got a recorded 57 attempts against San Diego. Had a hitting average of .464 and had 16 kills in win over Texas A&M. Earned career best .733 hitting percentage against Louisville. Named Big Ten Player of the Week after earning 30 kills and hitting .311 over the weekend against Maryland and No.17 Ohio State -
Name up in lights
Week after week, the outside hitter earns Big Ten awards, and is the only Big Ten player to receive Big Ten Player of the week three times this season. Wilhite leads the team in kills, and is second in service aces and digs. She is also currently second in kills per set in the Big Ten.
Aside from the physical game, she has taken on a bigger role as a leader on the team. -

“In comparison to other seasons, I have been more of a consistent player, both in execution and energy,” Wilhite said. “As a senior, I have had more of a leadership role on the team.”

I personally like Sarah Wilhite because she is so encouraging to younger volleyball players. She is such a great team player and she always works hard. -
