Declaration of Independence
Thomas Jefferson pens a farewell address to King George III. Better known as the Declaration of Independence, this document lists the grievances of the American people against the government of Great Britain. It also lists the natural rights of the American People: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Taken altogether, the American Revolutionaries believe that only a complete break with the British government will guarantee these rights. -

An Unwinnable War?
Washington and his troops endure a subzero conditions, disease, and death at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777-78. So far the war is a statlemate at best, or a long-winded American retreat at the very least. While the American people are starting to support the 'Cause,' economic resources are running out. Without foreign intervention Washington and his rag-tag army cannot hold out much longer. -
