The Battle of Lexington and Concord were the first American Revolutionary War battles. It was fought in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy (present-day Arlington), and Cambridge. The Americans won the battle against the British and they retreated back to Boston. -

The Siege of Fort Ticonderoga has occurred during the American Revolutionary War when a small force of Green Mountain Boys, led by Ethan Allen and Colonel Benedict Arnold, tried to capture the fort's small British garrison. The British defeated Americans and the British General, Thomas Gage, were planning to control the hills around Boston, including the areas of Dorchester Heights and Charleston, to keep Boston Harbor open to British ships bringing in troops and supplies. -
