The US owned Texas due to the Louisiana purchase, so people started migrating there. The Mexicans also wanted to expand there, so there were battles fought over Texas. Mexico got control, and than the Texans fought back for it. -
Manifest Destiny
The manifest destiny is where Americans were told to expand westward for the sake of explorations.
